Xmas

The Subaru died 67 miles from El Paso. That was ok because it has been burning oil and had 202,000 miles on it. 2 months ago we decided we will need to replace it soon. The bad part is that it died in the middle of no where with spotty at best cell reception..in a snow storm…temps dropping rapidly.

We were able to call 911 long enough for them to tell us they did not know where we were and there were accidents all over the place. We huddled together for warmth and decided we might not freeze to death before morning.

After 2 and a half hours a guy stopped and rescued us. The truck was a single cab and we squeezed us and the 2 dogs in some how. The man would not take a dime and said to pay it forward.

A one way rental from El Paso to Oklahoma city from Hertz is $200 a day. $900 dollars is a small price to pay I suppose.

We were so glad to be home we almost cried. Now the hunt is on for another Subaru!
